Pysanky for Ukraine: Folk Art Workshop with Halyna + Sasha

  • Mokosh Ukrainian Weaving Studio New Paltz NY (map)

Join Halyna and Sasha for a Ukrainian folk art workshop centered on pysanky—the ancient tradition of writing eggs with beeswax and plant dyes.

Historically, pysanky were created as blessings for the land, the community and the future. The egg, an ancient cosmological symbol, holds the promise of life itself. Each line, spiral, and mark is an intention written into matter, a spell for protection, fertility, resilience, and renewal. They were created to safeguard homes, strengthen community bonds and carry collective prayers through uncertain times.

In this workshop, we will work with beeswax and natural dyes and write intentions for ourselves, for Ukraine and blessing the future.

Suggested donation: $25
