Learn the foundations of cross stitch in this beginner-friendly workshop. You’ll be guided through the basics of cross stitching and how to design your own patterns.

Rooted in folk handcraft traditions, this workshop approaches stitching as both a practical skill and a meaningful, embodied process. For generations, these techniques supported daily life—used to mend, reinforce, and embellish cloth so it could be used and loved longer. Knowledge moved hand to hand, often shared in spaces where people gathered to work alongside one another, exchanging stories.

All materials are provided. Participants will leave with a clear understanding of how to cross stitch, and the skills to begin designing your own patterns at home.

Tulsi Body Cream (2oz):

Designed by Sasha Botanica, the pattern portrays Mokosh holding two flowers, with floral motifs adorning her dress—symbols of her deep connection to the land, growth, and abundance. In Slavic tradition, Mokosh was often associated with the fertile earth itself and was sometimes known as "Mother Moist Earth," a sacred embodiment of the life-giving forces of nature. Each 2oz bottle of hydrosol is a small-batch distillation of fresh plant material—wildcrafted or garden-grown in the Hudson Valley and steam-distilled by Sasha in her copper alembic. Sculpting the Sacred: Cycle Wisdom & Creative Ritual with Sasha Botanica & Diana Wassef

Join us for an afternoon of creativity and connection with the living earth.

We will begin by gathering in circle to explore cyclical awareness and the ways our bodies move through seasons of activity, rest, creativity, and renewal. Through guided discussion and reflection, we'll consider how paying attention to these rhythms can support greater self-awareness and well-being.

This gathering also includes the option to visit a natural clay deposit on the land at Heartsong Sanctuary. Those who wish are invited to cover their skin with the mineral-rich clay before rinsing off in the sanctuary's beautiful spring-fed pond.

Our bodies are made from many of the same minerals found in the earth beneath our feet. Working directly with clay offers a grounding sensory experience while natural clay has long been valued for helping draw excess oil and impurities from the skin, leaving it feeling refreshed and softened.

Afterward, we'll gather beneath the outdoor pavilion to sculpt our own goddess figurines from clay. No artistic experience is necessary—this is an intuitive and accessible creative practice open to everyone. If you’d prefer not to participate in the body clay experience, the Goddess Temple will be open throughout the afternoon as a quiet space for meditation or reflection.

Whether you choose to immerse yourself in clay and water, sculpt with your hands, or simply enjoy the sanctuary, this afternoon offers an opportunity to slow down, cool off, and reconnect with yourself, your creativity, and the natural world.

Please bring: a towel, a bathing suit (or clothing you don't mind getting muddy), water, and anything else that will help you feel comfortable outdoors.
