ANTHROPOLOGIST, HERBALIST, DOULA
Since earning my B.S. degree in Cultural Anthropology my journey has led me to becoming a certified herbalist, birth & postpartum doula and training midwifery assistant.
With a passion for holistic reproductive wellness, I educate families in the surrounding Hudson Valley in all aspects of birth and postpartum care, fertility awareness education, and offer the service of placenta encapsulation.
You can expect a holistic approach to wellness when working with me. I believe all aspects of health should be acknowledged and I want to create a strong and caring connection with you. A well known Anthropologist and birth activist, Robbie Davis-Floyd once stated, “as an anthropologist and a birth activist, I am trained to honor and respect people's choices and the knowledge systems on which they base those choices, but also to deeply question the cultural conditioning underlying all "choices."
I believe in educated, informed choices and I want people to feel empowered by their decisions when it comes to their bodies, health and wellness. Learning about other cultures traditions surrounding birth and reproductive wellness is incredibly important and beneficial for a holistic approach to health - it keeps us curious and open minded to learn more about our options when it comes to wellness.
Holistic reproductive wellness is multidimensional. Not only is it about becoming empowered, it encompasses the broader scope of ethical principles of justice & respect for human dignity and to protect & respect cultural diversity when it comes to reproductive health. It envelops the understanding of social, emotional, cultural, spiritual, psychological and physical experiences of connecting with reproductive wellness today.
Crafting and selling my organic botanical products has been a deeply creative way for me to physically express my passion for holistic wellness. Each product is handmade in small batches by me using certified organic ingredients that nurture, soothe, and heal.
